Sleepy Hollow (1999)

will be a horseman!

The film Sleepy Hollow, created by Tim Burton,
is loosely based on Washington Irving's classic novel "The Legend
Of Sleepy Hollow". The film is set in 1799 where the little
town of Sleepy Hollow has been plagued by the presence of a headless
horseman who goes out decapitating heads. Constable Ichabod Crane
(Johnny Depp) of the New York police arrives in Sleepy Hollow to
solve the mystery of murders by the ghost of the "headless horseman"
who is out in the woods seeking revenge for his murder many years
ago. In the beginning, Crane refuses to accept the possibility of
a supernatural force causing the deaths, until he finds himself
in front of the headless horseman. Within the film Crane is trying
to win the heart of Katrina Van Tassel (Christina Ricci). Crane
discovers that the headless horseman is a former Hessian soldier
who was beheaded but now summoned by witchcraft for despicable purposes.
