tale is based on Alice Hoffman's best-selling novel. Sisters Sally
(Sandra Bullock) and Gillian (Nicole Kidman) Owens have always known
they were different. They were brought up by their aunts after their
parents' death and were fed chocolate cake for breakfast and were
taught to use practical magic. However, the Owens' sorcery has always
carried a hefty curse; the men they fall in love with are doomed
to an untimely death. As adult women with very different personalities,
the quiet Sally and the fiery Gillian must use all of their powers
to fight the Owens family curse.
