This film, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone,
is the first of many novels by J.K. Rowling. Harry
Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) has spent the first ten years of his life
living under the stairs in the house of his Aunt Petunia and Uncle
Vernon because his parents have died in a car crash when he was
a baby. On Harry's eleventh birthday Hagrid delivers a mysterious
letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, telling
Harry that he is chosen as one of the future students. Harry then
finds out his parents were a wizard and a witch and were killed
when protecting him from the evil wizard Voldemort. Harry
still has a lightning-shaped scar on his forehead from that event
and has been famous in the wizard world since he survived the attack
and deprived Voldemort from his powers. At Hogwarts, Harry
meets his teachers, and becomes friends with Ron Weasley and Hermione
Granger. These three friends take it upon themselves to go on a
quest for the truth crossing many obstacles including the three-headed
monster dog.
